1951. US Supreme Court rejects 5 gay marriage appeals
| The US Supreme Court refused to get involved in the national debate over same-sex marriage Monday, as it rejected appeals against gay marriage in five states- Indiana, Utah, Oklahoma, Virginia and Wisconsin. Monday’s orders leave intact lower court rulings that will legalize the practice in 11 additional states including North Carolina, West Virginia, South Carolina, Wyoming, Kansas and Colorado - where appeals to strike down bans are pending. The court's decision means the number of states with gay marriage could quickly jump from 19 to 30. Tags: US Supreme Court, Indiana, Utah, Oklahoma, Virginia, Gay marriage, South Carolina | |||
