NASA unveils massive spacecraft welding tool in New Orleans at Michoud Assembly Center. This spacecraft will help in construction of "Space Launch System" rockets, it is called the Vertical Assembly Center, which is 78 foot wide, 170 foot tall. In2011 it was chosen for building components which were required in major new rocket system.It will be used for building the "core stage" of the SLS rockets which will be more than 27 feet in diameter and 200 feet tall. Boeing is the major contractor for the SLS core stage.
